How much hp will this sticker add? And can I put it on the body or does it have to go on the ECU?
original post.
Thankfully of not much consequence. So I started assembling my PC without the RAM, since I had everything else, the RAM comes tomorrow by the way. I figured I could get a lot done and put the RAM in when it arrived.
Well now I’m realizing that the stupid AMD logo on the CPU cooler is sticking out a little over the first RAM slot. I wanted y’alls opinions on whether I’ll be able slide a stick of RAM in there or if I’ll have to remove the cooler, which would be annoying, but not all that much of a problem really.
A more directly over head view.
If I just would’ve mounted it the other way this wouldn’t remotely be an issue :(

The base is rectangular, so I could rotate it 180 degrees. The problem is I’d likely have to remove the whole motherboard. Because There’s a little support plate on the backside, that if it moves at all I’d have to pull the motherboard out to reinstall the cooler.
Athought I’ll see if I can get some dow pins or something to hold the plate in place while I remove the cooler and insert the RAM.

Looks like you can probably sneak the RAM in (assuming it doesn’t have a huge heat-spreader on it. If not you may be able to take the cooler off and rotate it, but it looks like you might not even have to do that. Seems like the part that sticks out is part of the fan assembly, so you can probably just unscrew that from the cooler and either fit in the RAM or just rotate the fan so it is out of the way.
Edit: Here’s a discussion of removing the fan, they were in the same situation as you: https://community.amd.com/thread/216233

You’re gonna have to find out when the RAM sticks arrive.

will probably mean the whole motherboard needs to come out. :(

I’d try to jam it in. What’s the worst that could happen?

Thank you! I didn’t think about that. Now my motherboard doesn’t have to come out!

I did what someone else suggested and just removed the fan shroud. Much easier than doing the entire cooler, know there’s no clearance issue and I just have to put the shroud back after I install the RAM.

Just did. Stripped the first screw a little but definitely the best solution. Thanks again.

Which GPU did you end up going with?
I wanted to upgrade to a new GPU back around Christmas but hated how expensive they’d become due to crypto miners, but it’s just gotten worse since then. Hopefully they all die soon (or, at the very least, go bankrupt).

I’d bet you could get the module in there as long as it’s short enough to get under that monstrosity.

I just removed the fan shroud. Now I have plenty of room and I won’t have to pull out the motherboard to reinstall the cooler.

Pretty sure you can rotate the fan shroud, there’s probably some guide on the internet.

Yep I did, there was just a few small screws that were hard to see because of the shadow of the case and fan.

it shouldn’t but do what makes you feel comfortable.
